Tourniquets are used to stop arterial bleeding where bleeding control (stopping the bleeding) cannot be achieved in any other way. They can be used on extremities (arms and legs). They completely stop the blood supply to the injured body part and in this way you get complete control of the bleeding. Black - Tactical is used by the military to keep them from being seen. Oranga - Rescue is used by all civilian personnel where it is important to be seen (police, rescue services, ambulance, security guards, etc.). Blue - Training is used for training. If the injury is instead in the chest or abdomen, then a tourniquet cannot be used for bleeding control, but you should instead pack (place a tamponade) with hemostatic bandages directly in the wound cavity.
